Thousands of children accused of sexual offenses

Thousands of under-aged children were accused of sexually molesting other children since 2012, NSPCC said today.

Over 8000 people under the age of 18 were accused of crimes as serious as sexual assault and rape in last two years.

Youngest offender on record was merely 6 years old.

The figures were requested by the charity to police forces in England and Wales.

A NSPCC spokesperson added that children should be taught the “underwear rule” – reminding them not to allow anyone to touch areas covered by underwear – but also about consent.
